KICKASS WOMEN IN LITERATURE: [1/20] HERMIONE GRANGER, The Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling
“Hermione, will you please —”
“Don’t you tell me what to do, Harry Potter!” she screeched. “Don’t you dare! Give it back now! And YOU!”
She was pointing at Ron in dire accusation: It was like a malediction, and Harry could not blame Ron for retreating several steps.”Described as the brightest witch of her age, Hermione steadily blossoms into a whip-smart beauty who does not tolerate idiots (except Ron). She is the glue and the foundation of the Golden trio, saving their lives countless times with her quick thinking and resourcefulness. Beautiful and smart, Hermione is titantium and perhaps the only one of the three to never break down in the darkest oftimes. She is unapologetic in her intelligence and love for education, a rare quality in female literary characters. Practical and selfless, Hermione has proven to be ruthless (wiping the memories of her parents to save them, punching Draco Malfoy in the face, etc), determined and resilient. She is the true heart and soul of the series.
